Creamy buttermilk canvas for The Titanic

I've chosen a warm cream colored yellow for the background with a red line as the horizon. You can see samples of Titanic blue prints which will be incorporated into the fine art collage. To the left you can see a small photo of a woman from a 1912 photo I've worked on. It too will be fashioned into the picture. This artwork has been such a pleasure to work on. I am really enjoying the research.

Tea Stained Paper by Scrapboarding makes sweet wedding invites!

Mike from Mass., a client of mine on Etsy,  had a wonderful and beautiful creative thought. He ran my thick and rich creamy handmade cotton tea stained paper through his printer for a stunning prototype for his wedding invitations. Way to go Mike! I love it when creative minds work together for a glorious project.

New Work: The Titanic

A cross section of the Titanic
I'm beginning to gather memorabila for a new scrapboard on The Titanic. Even before the movie, I had been fascinated with the story and the ill-fated maiden voyage of the "unsinkable." Currently, I have a book with photographs, and I am doing research on the blueprints, the crewmembers, maps among other things. Interestingly, I've found that two of the surviving women were from Wisconsin, my home state. My canvas is pretty large. I've painted it a buttermilk and will soon begin doing some layouts. My goal is to contiue working with encaustics beeswax! I've only tried it once, and I love the affect.
